Data Sources

Full transparency on where every byte comes from.

SEC EDGAR

All filing data on FilingRadar — 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and amendments — comes directly from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database (sec.gov/edgar).

EDGAR data is public domain (works of the U.S. federal government). We do not modify, redact, or interpret the original filings. We render them to PDF using a headless browser for convenience; the underlying HTML content is preserved as-is.

Update frequency: We refresh company filing indexes every 6 hours. SEC filings are typically published in real time during business hours (US Eastern).

User-Agent compliance: Per SEC fair access policy, we identify FilingRadar in every request to EDGAR with a contact email and reasonable rate limits.

Company tickers and CIKs

The mapping from stock ticker (e.g., AAPL) to CIK (SEC's internal identifier) comes from SEC's public company_tickers.json file, refreshed weekly on our servers.

What we do NOT pull from

  • No paid data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.).
  • No scraping of other websites.
  • No user-generated content from forums or social media.
  • No AI-generated "facts" — only what's actually in the filings.

Filing Calendar predictions

The Filing Calendar shows expected filing windows based on historical patterns. The methodology:

  • 10-Q (quarterly reports) are due within 40-45 days after each fiscal quarter end.
  • 10-K (annual reports) are due within 60-90 days after each fiscal year end.
  • We look up the company's fiscal calendar from its most recent filings and project forward.

These projections are educated guesses, not guarantees. Companies can file late, early, or request extensions. The calendar is for planning, not for time-sensitive trading decisions.

What we explicitly are NOT doing

  • We are not republishing SEC filings as our own work.
  • We are not adding commentary or interpretation to filings.
  • We are not aggregating filings into derivative datasets for resale.
  • We are simply a transit layer that converts public HTML to convenient PDFs.

Data accuracy disclaimer

While we make every reasonable effort to relay SEC data accurately, we make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Always verify critical data against the original filing on EDGAR before relying on it for any decision. We are a tool, not an authoritative source.
